Sanctuaries

Sanctuaries are places where farmed animals are rescued, rehabilitated, and protected from the violent standard practices inherent to the egg, dairy, and meat industries. Unlike farms, sanctuaries provide cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, and other farmed animals a safe home where they are considered sentient individuals, they can live out their natural lifespans, their bodily autonomy is respected, and their complex social bonds are encouraged and nurtured. Here’s a list of animal sanctuaries I am inspired by, who are doing this important work I consider as foundational to building a world of compassion, empathy, justice, and peace for all species.
